A little vintage, a lot of awesome: Damien Correll rocks my face. I discovered his portfolio a long time ago by checking out the artistic behind a certain Threadless shirt that I still to this day don’t own. He has a great typographical style and the illustration is just great. It’s awesome what one person can do with a bunch of triangles…
Ok, I understand that this really isn’t illustration is the strictest sense, but what you don’t understand is just how cool this is anyway. Robert Sollis, a lad who has devoted a lot of his time, I believe to the Royal College of Art in London attempted to have his university rightly marked on Google maps by requesting the “A” marker to be temporarily moved. When google responsed with auto-robot messages, he went in and did it himself, creating this giant “a” out of carpet to mark the spot for Google maps. I’m not totally sure if the satallite feed ever picked this up, but major props for trying/being awesome! Cheers!

Last one: Mr. Bowlegs (aka Jeffery Bowman) is a graphic designer and illustrator over in the UK that does just great stuff. With everything from illustration to graphics stuff or promos for lots of different organizations, his portfolio is a treat to thumb through and definately check it out. And the site is pretty awesome too–very simplistic and sweet.
