Ok, so I talk a lot about having design crushes on various artists, and when I say that, I really mean it. And today, I may have found my new one. And I’m so stoked, this week’s Illustration Thursday is going to be all about Invisible Creature.
Creating hundreds of album covers, screen printed posters, and some stuff that unknowingly & greatly influenced my own work today and every CD I bought in 2005, Invisible Creature is a creative duo that really should be crazy noted. Once creating a lot of the art work and direction for Tooth & Nail, their site has a great selection of work, PLUS archives and a store where you can purchase show posters, shirt, albums, etc.
You can also read a great interview with Don Clark over at grainedit, with a tutorial on some illustration work and photos of their studio/awesome creative factory.
These are some of my favorites:
Starfyler 59 “My Island” cover: I didn’t develop a love for SF until recently, but I have always admired this cover. So intricate and great.
The Blood Brothers Poster: This was the direct inspiration for my senior print project, and my first shot at one color wood block style printing. fantastic!
More after the jump:
Michael Michael Show: great clean style and color.
Great mewithoutYou poster: for a band that continues to do the unexpected…
