ReadyMade magazine has a great HOW TO for some super cool String lamp shades using just string, balloons, fabric stiffener, and a hanging lamp kit.
I started a similar project using string, a bowl, and some glue, but this is a way easier way to put it all together. You could use glue too if you didn’t have stiffener, but the balloon is a great way to get all different sizes with a round shape. Note: works best if you have the big round balloons, not the party latex kind. The ones usually sold as a toy/beat up your friends with a balloon toy work the best!
