Etsy Tuesday : Modern Pop is Awesome!

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

I was searching for something to post here on the ole blog for Etsy Tuesday (which has apologically been on a few week hitatus for no good reason), just typing ‘helvetica’ in the search, knowing something awesome would come up in the results.

And boy, did something awesome come up in the return:  the Ode to Helvetica print poster by Modern Pop.  Look how lovely–so colorful and swiss.

BUT WAIT! There’s more!  Modern Pop has a whole store filled with posters of this same amazing calibur, including some about animals, more letters, and even robots!

Here’s some of my favorites:

The Whale

Walter No 37561

Ff is for Forest

Rumor has it that these are supposed to be for kids, which I can see, but nothing’s stopping you from ordering and hanging one of these lovely prints in your own home, childless or not.  Also check out his her site; it’s super cute as well.

Cheers!

She also has a bunch of other super cute electonic-case related items in the shop.  Totally check these out.

Awesome Posters : Dirk Fowler

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Dirk Fowler of F2-Design has a great collection of show posters he’s created, most with sly visual puns and super style.  I found these over at GrainEdit, who pointed out that they, like many people, start into graphic design creating things like band posters, and I have to totally agree!  That’s how I started in design, when back then, all I had were magazine clippings, a marker, and a photocopier.  (Those were the days….so much glue, so little time!)

Here’s some more that I really like:

(PS: This one is totally for a show in Indy, my [sort of] hometown!)

You can see more over at Gigposters.com, where you can also make a purchase to make one or more of these your very own.  Also, check out his F2-Design site, which has even more awesome work, including letterpress and design work.

Cheers!

Pardon My Hindi : Mumbai Smoke Silkscreen Print

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Lovely poster from Pardon My Hindi, which is sort of like a dude and a group-input, and sort of ezine collective (?-I’m making this up) that produces prints, shirts, and buttons and other random stuff for the internets.  ANYWAYS, the stuff is super cool.  I really like this poster. I don’t know if its the colors or the floral exhaust, or something, but it’s sweet. Check them out for sure.

Cheers!

And PS: The site is really pleasing as well.  I like the graph paper theme, and the pop-up menu.  Classy.

Here’s some more that are just precious:

Bamboo Mobile

Deer Friends Print

Awesome!  Check the rest of these awesome pieces over at Petit Collage on Etsy.

Alphabet Bags : Ampersand Tote

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

These totes are awesome!  Alphabet Bags is the home to a ton of really cool, well, totes featuring the letters of the alphabet in this really sweet, classic Diodoni.  They are based out of the UK, and are made by the same people who were originally responsible for the Keep Calm poster craze (Well, the Brits in the 40s started it, really, but they revived/posted it online for things to get crazy).

They ship internationally for pretty cheap post charges.  Cheers!
