This was once a blog where I shared many, many things, most of which were awesome. Somewhere around fall 2009, I got a big-kid media job and no longer can keep up with this old thing. There's some good stuff hanging around here though. You should check it out.
Illustration Thursday

Well, hello. How have you been?

Look how run-down this old blog is. When was the last time someone dusted around here? Or cut the grass? Is that an old moldy sandwich over there? gross.

WOW: Monsieur COK

WOW: Monsieur COK

Wow.  Just wow. Monsieur COK is a short French film illustrating the struggle between capitalism and communism, labor and money, automation and human labor.  Visually stunning and groteschly real, this is a fantastic yet somewhat scary look at the industry that drives our lives, wars, and world.  Watch it online. Fantastic! (Found via NotCot.org)

WOW: Odosketch

This is amazing:  Odosketch is a super great online sketching app that allows, well, you to sketch using a variety of brushes and colors.  The brushes act sort of like pastel crayons and allow for some really awesome things.  They also have a gallery of creations from other people, some of which are really, really...

Etsy Tuesday : Modern Pop is Awesome!

I was searching for something to post here on the ole blog for Etsy Tuesday (which has apologically been on a few week hitatus for no good reason), just typing ‘helvetica’ in the search, knowing something awesome would come up in the results. And boy, did something awesome come up in the return:  the Ode...

Awesome Posters : Dirk Fowler

Dirk Fowler of F2-Design has a great collection of show posters he’s created, most with sly visual puns and super style.  I found these over at GrainEdit, who pointed out that they, like many people, start into graphic design creating things like band posters, and I have to totally agree!  That’s how I started in...

Illustration Thursday : Terrible Yellow Eyes

(Ana Galvañ) So a few years ago, my roommate in college dressed up like Max from “Where the Wild Things Are” for a school function about childhood, and ever since, I’ve had a renewed sort of fondness for this book I read when I was a kid.  And as everyone knows, they are making a...

Threadcakes

This is such a fun idea : Threadcakes is an online contest for bakers and decorators challenged to recreate a Threadless tee in the medium of cake.  Some are awesome and some could use some work, but overall, the gallery of cake submissions features just a ton of great work.  Sweet!

Illustration Thursday : Abner Graboff

Abner Graboff was an illustrater and designer in the 50s-60s with just an amazing style.  He did everything from children’s books to book jackets to possibily the CBS ‘eye’ logo.  Ward-o-Matic has a great interview with Jon Graboff, Abner’s son, about his father’s influences, history and work.  Great read! Cheers! (‘Where are all the illustration...
